Potential for tourism development in Ukraine

Despite all the realities of today, it is to be noted that Ukraine has a powerful tourist potential, which, unfortunately, is not used very efficiently. Thus, a significant component of tourist potential is the historical and cultural memorials. Travel in Ukraine. The majority of tourists are attracted by excavations of ancient cities in the south coast of Ukraine (Tira, Olvia, Chersonese, Pantikapaion); monuments of Kievan Rus IX-XII in Kiev, Chernigov, Kanev, Ovruch, Vladimir-Volynskiy; monuments of the defensive architecture (fortresses in Lutsk, Medzhybozh, Kamenets-Podolskiy, Khotyn, Belgorod-Dniester, Uzhgorod and Mukachevo); palace complexes in Crimea, in Lviv and Chernigov regions; monuments of religious architecture in Kiev, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Pochaiv, Mukachevo and Chernovtsy, and wooden worship and civil architecture in the Carpathians.

Natural potential of Ukraine consists of coasts of the Black Sea and Azov Sea, relief, water (more than 70 thousand rivers, more than 3 thousand natural lakes and 22 thousand artificial ponds), forest, plant and animal resources. On their basis are established 5 national parks, 15 state reserves, nature reserves, arboretums, monuments of landscape art, which belong to protected areas. The sources of healing mud, as well as mineral and radon waters belong to the recreational potential of our country, which has not only national but also international importance. In addition, Ukraine is located at the crossroads between Europe and Asia: important railways and highways, ports of the Black and Azov Seas and the Danube, air network can provide its intensive multilateral cooperation with many countries.

The great ideas are relied on the implementation of the global program of creation the transportation corridors in Ukraine. They can give not only thousands of new working places in construction period, but also create some impetus to the emergence of many small and medium enterprises for the further infrastructure of transport corridors service.

Ukraine also has all premises for the development and flourishing of the “green tourism”. After all, from ancient times Ukraine was famous for the picturesque beauty of its landscapes.
